The World Congress on Access to Higher Education in Montreal Canada

In October 2012 our partner EAN will organize ‘the World Congress on Access to Higher Education’ in Montreal, Canada. The World Congress Series aims to spark a new global movement to open up opportunities in post-secondary education for all people, especially those experiencing disadvantage. You have a chance to participate in this congress.

The World Congress Planning Committee is sponsoring a competition to identify up to 8 currently enrolled students of any age from different parts of the world to undertake a small research project on issues relevant to access to post-secondary education in their country or region.

Each student selected will receive a small research scholarship of $US1000 and the costs of their travel and accommodation to attend the Montreal Congress
in October 2013.

Successful students will be required to prepare a short video (5 minutes maximum), which they will present at Montreal 2013, and to submit a written report
on their work (maximum 5000 words) by 31st August 2013.

Each will also be appointed a mentor to guide and support them in their research and in preparing their project video and report. Students will be able to
define their own projects. An element of primary research is preferred but not essential.

Projects that highlight what ‘under-representation in post-secondary education’ means in different parts of the world and the factors that contribute to it
will be especially welcome.

Application forms and guidance notes will be available on the World Congress website from September 18th 2012: www.eanworldcongress.org

Completed forms must be submitted by November 30th
st
2012.
